Oman issued a decree on April 30 establishing a special zone dedicated to artificial intelligence in Muscat, aimed at accelerating innovation projects and developing the digital economy, according to local outlet Oman Daily.

Located in the Sib area west of the capital, the zone, created by a decree of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, will cover around 104,000 square meters and is intended to attract investment in advanced technologies, particularly semiconductors and robotics.

The project is part of the “Oman 2040” strategy, which aims to diversify the economy and strengthen the role of digital sectors.
